Somewhat frustrating coming home from an auction with so little, but these will look great in the shop!  Globes are always a fun decorating item and this gold-painted metal-wrapped wire basket is terrific!  And a sweet pair of child’s metal folding chairs are perfect for a child’s room or for use outside.

thank you, thank you very much

YES!  It is true, after six years at 310, we have finally decided to make the investment.  The fellows above, Brian and Richie, are adding central air to the shop as we speak!!  (I can hear them working downstairs..)

Truth is, I don’t really like air conditioning as a rule.  I much prefer fresh air and breezes.  But considering the lack of fresh air and breezes in the middle of the city in the middle of the summer, I have concluded that it will be a wonderful thing to be able to cut the humidity in the shop and give myself, my employees, and you a refreshing place in which to escape the mid-summer heat.

This weekend is the Spring ArtWalk in Lancaster and I am pleased to offer a few beautifully luscious works by San Francisco artist, Adele Shaw.

Truly, my first reaction upon seeing them was to lick them.  They are like a sweet treat!

Lovely to have been given the opportunity to change the outfit of Maria, the greeter at Rachel’s Cafe and Creperie in Lancaster, PA.  You must make plans to come into town and try one of their delicious crepes, salty or sweet (or both!).

Then a hop, skip, and jump across the street to visit Mommalicious, too!

Sometimes I come across a treasure that is nearly impossible for me to sell.  This beautifully painted velvet-lined storage box was once used for a gal’s handkerchiefs and was most definitely adored by her.  More than likely from the early 20th century (or earlier, perhaps), this beauty will live on to make someone else happy, too.  (Maybe me?)

I am thrilled to announce that I am now offering design and decorating books at the shop!  I’ve been collecting these books for years for inspiration, relaxation and to use as an idea file whenever I need a fresh decorating boost. Some of my favorites have come from Chronicle Books and Ryland, Peters & Small both of whom I now carry.

You must come in and browse the “stacks”.  I’ve added stationery, as well, and will continue to provide delicious new additions this year.

I received Shoyeido incense years ago as a gift.  Out of curiosity, I googled the company to see if they were still making incense.  Sure enough!  Decided to go on a whim and order it for the shop.  The incense is great, the packaging is sublime.
