storage AND good looks

I know industrial pieces are a hot item right now and truthfully, I’m not always one to follow trends, but these sorts of things really are fantastic and useful.  Take this terrific pale gray painted toolbox, for example.  It is handsome with its monogrammed letters: RCF, but not only nice to look at, it can be used as storage.

RCF’s painted toolbox, no insert $78.

a colorful collage

Vandy and I felt creatively inspired yesterday and managed to come up with a fresh new look for the jewelry corner.  It feels great to have an idea in one’s mind and then, with the help of another creative’s brain, bring it to life in an even lovelier way than imagined.

Come on in and browse the layers!  I’ll keep refreshing the stock little by little…

Momma in New York

February 11, 2012

What a treat to get away for a couple of days!  Dennis (aka Poppalicious) and I stayed at a beautiful B & B called the Whistling Swan in Stanhope, NJ.  To make the most of our close vicinity to New York, we drove to Hoboken and took the ferry to Manhattan. Always fun:  noodles at [...]

I once chose a fortune out of a bowl.  It read: ‘flirt shamelessly’, the perfect way to describe this early 20th century scene. Have fun this month and see how many ways you can spoil your lover… Share on Facebook

Inspired Writing

January 28, 2012

I’ve branched out yet again and have recently added notebooks from Cavallini & Co.  I don’t know why it took me 5 years to decide to carry their line.  Everything is so lovely and well-made!  And of course the graphics fit right in to the quirky Mommalicious decor… large notebooks 6×8 $13.00  small notebooks 4×6 [...]

Mid-Century Cool

January 24, 2012

It is such a pleasure finding a mid-century modern chair that is in excellent condition.  Trust me, I see lots of would-be gems, but often they are in such disrepair that it simply doesn’t make sense to salvage them. A nice young man kept this chair in great shape!  1960s white vinyl swivel chair by [...]

Bottle Beauty

January 13, 2012

What is it about old medicine bottles that are so intriguing?  Against an old plaster wall they sparkle, even the old weathered pieces.  Its fun to imagine what disturbing concoction one may have had to endure back in the day.  I, for one, appreciate them purely as beautiful objects, especially lovely in a group. Share [...]

Winter Warmth

January 5, 2012

I admit I love wearing layers of warm sweaters in wintertime.  If it is going to be cold outside, you may as well grab a good old wool cardigan (or two) and hunker down.  It is especially fun to mix and match color, texture and design.  Add a pair of funky striped tights and wool [...]
